2023 NEC Power Limited - Parts 1 & 2

4CE - Approved in MN, SD, NE, WY, MT, ND, CO & ID

Based on the 2023 NEC.

Electricians and power limited technicians have an opportunity to hone their skills in installation techniques and National Electrical Code standards by participating in this class led by a master electrician skilled in power limited systems installation. Here we review Code standards that apply to communications and data wiring for safe installations avoiding shock and fire hazards. This is part one of four parts.
Cabling standards and code compliant installations are part of this PowerPoint® presentation.

As the power limited classes progresses, the subject of electrical conductors is reviewed based on code standards considering ampacity, temperature, and wiring methods. The standard for placing wiring from different systems in the same raceway or wiring enclosure is explained and code references to this requirement brought up for discussion.
We move into wiring methods recognized by the NEC for installation indoors, outdoors, and underground and students have an opportunity to view photography that supports such installations. When installing data and communications wiring in raceways certain conduit-fill rules apply and will be demonstrated to ensure a code compliant job. Rules applying to cable installations in areas designated as plenums and other environmental air spaces will be discussed as well as the diverse types of each that are permitted in each.

Your Certificate of Completion will be available upon completion. The Electrical Association will be notified of your completion and will submit your CEs to the Dept. of Labor.
